Celebrating Islamic History Month

October marks the beginning of Islamic History Month, which recognizes the contributions of Muslim Canadians to sciences, humanities, medicine, astronomy, and other disciplines.

More than 1.8 million Canadians are Muslim, comprising almost 5% of our population. We also recognize that the Muslim community has unfortunately been a target of racism and Islamophobia.

This month aims to celebrate, inform, share and educate Canadians on the rich Muslim heritage, and to combating Islamophobia rhetoric.
