Celebrating Pride Month at OTLC

Updated: Jun 6

June is Pride Month, a time to celebrate, honor, and support the 2SLGBTQ+ community. At OTLC, we are proud to stand with our 2SLGBTQ+ clients, colleagues, and community members.

A Month of Celebration and Reflection

Pride Month is more than just a celebration; it's a reminder of the ongoing fight for equality and justice. This month, we reflect on the progress that has been made and acknowledge the work that still needs to be done. OTLC recognizes that 2SLGBTQ+ individuals often face unique legal challenges and barriers, and we strive to ensure that our services are accessible and responsive to these needs.

2SLGBTQ+ individuals can face a variety of legal issues that are specific to their experiences. Some of the areas we focus on include:

  • Discrimination: Fighting against discrimination in the workplace, housing, and public services.

  • Family Law: Assisting with matters such as adoption, surrogacy, and custody arrangements for 2SLGBTQ+ families.

  • Transgender Rights: Advocating for the rights of transgender individuals in areas such as name changes, gender marker updates, and access to healthcare.

Celebrating Our Community

Throughout Pride Month, we encourage you to participate various events to celebrate and support the 2SLGBTQ+ community. These events include:

  • Pride Parade Participation: march in solidarity at the local Pride Parade.

  • Legal Workshops: contact us for free workshops on legal issues affecting the 2SLGBTQ+ community.

  • Community Outreach: Our team will be out in the community, providing information and resources to those who need it.

We invite you to join us in celebrating Pride Month and supporting the 2SLGBTQ+ community. Whether you attend one of our events, volunteer your time, or simply take a moment to learn more about 2SLGBTQ+ issues, your support makes a difference.

Happy Pride Month from all of us at OTLC!
